Critical
Incident Stress Management (CISM): Basic Group Crisis Intervention.
The Basic CISM Training program is designed to present the
core elements of a comprehensive, systematic and multi-component
crisis intervention curriculum. The course helps prepare participants
to provide a wide range of crisis intervention services including:
pre and post incident crisis education, spousal/significant other
support, on-scene support, crisis intervention for individuals,
mobilization and demobilization after large scale traumatic events,
small group defusing and the group intervention known as Critical
Incident Stress Debriefing (CISD). The need for appropriate follow-up,
professional referrals and peer limitations is also described. Evidence
gathered to date strongly supports the multi-component intervention
strategy that is discussed in this course.

role-play and instructor coaching, plus a review of a model Critical
Incident Stress response protocol, to help participants better
understand the CISM process.

This seminar contains all standard curriculum approved by the International
Critical Incident Stress Foundation Inc. (ICISF). Official ICISF
Certificates of Attendance, with specific Continuing Education Units
(CEU) eligibility, will be granted upon successful completion.

Course fees include all course materials, workbooks, handouts, ICISF

Education Credit:
